BCFW Jaqueline Conoir

Last night was the first night of Spring 2010 BC Fashion Week. I attended the Jaqueline Conoir fashion show at Fortune Sound Club. It was a packed house. The collection was beautiful. Some of my favorite pieces were the beautiful multi-colored long dresses featured at the end of the show.

Below are a couple of shots from the show captured by photographer Ian Sheh http://www.iansheh.com/

Look of the Week - Burberry show at London Fashion Week

Last Tuesday, Burberry showcased it's Spring/Summer 2010 collection as part of London Fashion week.

Celebrities and socialites always go to these shows and this one did not disappoint. Agnyess Dyne - probably one of the hottest models right now showed with a fresh new hair-do. Her style is amazing, she can make Anything look good!

And another one of my favorites - Posh Spice. She was a little bit more understated with a simple black Burberry dress - but still looked amazing!

Currently Inspired By: Keri Hilson Number One video

I'm lovin Keri Hilson's new video with R Kelly. I think she has great style and she totally makes me want to cut my hair short!

I love the makeup looks in this video. She does 3 different looks:

1. First look is a beautiful nude palette. She uses neutral nude colors on her eyes, lips and cheeks. With a look like this high-lighting and contouring is very important. Adding hints of shimmer in key areas like above your cheek bones and down the bridge of your nose can really make this look pop.

2. Her second look is a dark smokey eye. She plays off her outfit which has hints of navy blue (her tube top) and uses the same navy colors for the smokey eye.

3. The last look is all about her hot pink lips. Her outfit is black and white so adding a pop of color in her makeup is a perfect combination. She used very light gray shadows on her eyes but the main focus is the bright hot pink lipstick.

Look of the Week

The Emmy's were held Sunday night and everyone came out in full force. The look was all about simplistic glamour. Nothing was too overdone - hair, makeup, dresses were all kept quite simple but very pretty and classic.

Some of my favorite looks from the night were Mila Kunis, Kim Kardashian, and Lindsay Price.

One common trend seen a lot Sunday night was the red lip. The red lip is a very glamourous look especially when paired with flawless skin and simple eyes. Drew Barrymore, Hayden Panitierre and Leighton Meester all wore this polished look in their own unique way.

My #1 pick of the night was Blake Lively. She looked amazing in her red low cut dress and goddess braided hair. She kept her makeup very simple - glowy skin, tons of lashes, flushed cheeks and lots of contouring. I will be doing an upcoming video tutorial on my version of a super easy and quick red carpet glamour look - so stay tuned for that!

Blotchy Eye shadow - eeek! How to avoid it

There's nothing worse than spending time on your makeup and having it looking messy in the end just because you missed a couple steps in the prepping process.

Prepping your eyes before applying eyeshadow can make the difference between beautiful looking eye shadow and blotchy, streaky looking eye makeup.

How to Prep
  • Apply foundation all over your lids to make the skin tone even.
  • Apply powder all over the lid. This will help smooth out the surface and avoid the eyeshadow from sticking in certain areas.
  • Apply an eye primer. This will ensure your eye shadow lasts all day and will prevent your eye makeup from melting, creasing or disappearing within a few hours.
Now you're ready to apply your eye shadow!

By following these tips, your eye makeup will look great and last all day!

Make Up For Ever has come out with a new line of HD Concealers. I love them!!! They give medium coverage so they'll cover up dark circles and puffiness but they still look very natural. They have a cool twist up container that is easy to use and super hygenic. And the best part is they come in 14 different shades so you'll definately find the right color for you.
